by Jacques Fournier

The final was played as a best-of-three between Colin Irwin and Jacques Fournier, also at the Gainey Ranch venue.

Game 1

... Colin missed on fourth turn.

[Jacques] After making hoop 1, and in the process of trying to put together a break he failed hoop 2 after an attempt at a swap out of the corner.

Colin missed and ...

Jacques was back in.  He took nine and ...

Colin missed the lift.

Jacques, after making hoop 1 was left with a cut rush to corner 4.  He failed to get a cannon and was left having to do a Hogan roll.  At this he failed miserably, leaving himself wired from his hoop 2 pioneer.  After an attempt to hit the sliver of the ball that was visible, his ball rested near the boundary.

Colin missed, and ...

Jacques played a clean break around and tripled.

Game 2
... Colin failed at hoop 3.

[Jacques] took the first break around and tried to set a sextuple, but blocked himself from his partner with an opponent ball in his attempt at wiring.  He then scattered the opponent balls so as to not leave a break for Colin.

Colin did not make a break, but set a nice leave.

Jacques missed horribly and ...

Colin took his hoop three ball around, setting the New Standard leave.

Jacques lifted the ball at hoop 4 so as to hopefully make the triple more difficult in the event of a miss, and he did miss.

Colin's unique leave with the rush pointed at hoop 1 did not quite get him the on-time triple that he surely hoped for.  He failed to run the triple, but got 1 peel and took his other ball to the peg.

Jacques hit in and managed to take his 1-back ball to 4-back, but his attempt at setting the ideal leave failed and he left Colin a short shot at a ball in the jaws of hoop 1.

Colin finished.

Game 3
... Jacques missed on fourth turn.

[Colin] was able to put together a nice break and showed very good form.  He once again set his unique New Standard leave and ...

Jacques missed.

This time Colin's leave gave him good promise of an on-time triple.  However, he only jawsed the peel at 4-back and missed an angled jump shot at a very tight hoop 5.

Jacques took advantage and ran his break around to 4-back.

Colin shot at the opponent on the east boundary and hit.  After a turn or two he established a break with the back ball and got a peel on partner.  He the stuffed 4-back.

Jacques hit a nearby opponent and finished with a triple.
