Don Leon Parker Apr 1938 - Sep 2018 Published in Lexington Herald-Leader on Sept. 19, 2018 Don Leon Parker, 80, husband to Joyce Jones Parker, passed away Monday, September 17, 2018. He was born April 30, 1938 in Scott County, Kentucky to the late Charles Leon and Ruby Faye Brannock Parker. Don retired from Square D as a Tool and Die maker after 45 years. He was a member of Dry Run Baptist Church, member of the US Croquet Association, loved fishing, enjoyed traveling, and refinishing antique furniture. Along with his wife Joyce, he is survived by daughters, Melanie (Randy) Wise of Taylorsville, Kentucky, Jennifer Parker of Georgetown, Kentucky, grandchildren, Carrie (Kyle) Riggs of Georgetown, Drew (Abby) Wise of Taylorsville, great grandchildren, Amelia Riggs and Joanna Riggs, brothers, Bob (Mary Ruth) Parker of Georgetown, George (Nellie) Parker of Georgetown, sisters, Faye (Harold) Marshall of Georgetown, Molly Carroll of Sadieville, and Judy (Bill) Thompson of Shepherdsville, and brother-in-law, John Kitchen of Georgetown. Don is preceded in death by the following family members, sister, Sally Kitchen, grandchildren, Samantha Blair and Parker Blair, and brother-in-law, Oliver Carroll. Visitation will be 5:00 - 8:00pm Wednesday, at Tucker, Yocum, & Wilson Funeral Home. Service will be 1pm, Thursday, at the funeral home with Rev. Tony Shouse officiating. Burial will be in Georgetown Cemetery with the following serving as pallbearers, Randy Wise, Drew Wise, Kyle Riggs, and Kevin Hammond. Honorary pallbearers are Ted Moss, Chuck Whitlow, Bill Kirby, Don Devine, Vernon McKinney, George Burgess, Larry Jones, Junior Jones, and John Kitchen.
