Final Round Description
The final, which was between Jacques Fournier and Bill Martin, got off to
a quick start.
- Martin hit in fourth turn and built a break to take nine.
- Jacques then missed; however,
- Martin did not go around. He ended up eventually scoring 1 hoop
with his back ball.
- Jacques eventually got into the game as well with about 35 minutes
left, and took a break around to 4-back. The score at this point was
10-9 and Bill was ahead.
- With about 10 minutes left Jacques made some difficult shots to score
1 and 2, but took off out of bounds before hoop 3.
- Bill missed.
- Jacques roqueted his partner ball as time ran out. Having a
convincing 11-10 lead, Jacques decided to set a defensive leave.
- Bill missed and Jacques won.
The next game was a little more exciting for the spectators, though it started
out very similarly.
- Bill again hit in fourth turn and took a ball around -- at a very fast
pace too, I might add.
- Jacques missed the lift.
- Bill had similar difficult developing a second break. After
he missed hoop 3,
- Jacques hit in and took a ball around to four back.
- After Bill missed,
Jacques tripled.
